Chardonnay 2007 - Amador County - John Bree Vineyards

 

 

This smooth and medium-bodied European-style chardonnay has floral scents of stonefruit, followed by mineral notes and a hint of pineapple. Lean flavors of melon and lime are followed by hints of peach, apricot, and pineapple. Aged in French and American oak for 12 months prior to bottling.

Sauvignon Blanc 2007 - Lake County - Broc Zoller Vineyards

 

This crisp sauvignon blanc begins with the smell of freshly sliced cantaloupe followed by crushed lemongrass. The flavor is distinct grapefruit melded with crisp citrus notes. Barrel fermented and aged in French and American oak for 12 months prior to bottling.

Rose of Merlot 2008 - Mendocino County - Nunez Vineyards

 

This bright salmon-colored, fruity but dry, barrel-fermented wine was pressed from rich, dark merlot grapes. Subtle floral notes with hints of peach and strawberry evolve into crisp plum flavors followed by a nuance of pineapple. Aged in 100% neutral French oak for 10 months prior to bottling.

Nebbiolo 2004 (Exclusively available only from the winery) - (2010 Gold Medal ) - Amador County - Sutter Creek Vineyards

 

Called the pinot noir of Italy, this truly elegant wine has subtle aromas of cocoa and blackberry brambles. The rich and earthy flavors of black cherry and dark chocolate resonate on the palate with smooth tannins. Aged for 30 months in French and American oak, this wine like a fine Barolo, will continue to develop complexity and finesse through additional bottle aging.

Pinotage 2007 - Amador County - John Bree Vineyards

 

This unique red wine is delightfully smooth and elegant and has aromas of violets,cloves, and pine.  Robust flavors of black currant and cocoa follow through to a lingering finish.  Barrel aged 30 months in French oak. Neither fined nor filtered.

Carignane 2005 - Mendocino Co. - German Vineyards

 

Dried cranberries, maple, and incense cedar aromatics fill the nose from this old vine carignane. For taste, flavors of spiced cinnamon pie cherries with a hint of violet are layered between satiny smooth tannins. Aged in French and American oak for 34 months prior to bottling. Neither fined nor filtered.

Barbera – 2007 - Amador County – Shenandoah Mine Ranch -

 

This medium-bodied Barbera is food-friendly with adequate acidity for pairing with traditional tomato and mushroom-based sauces, grilled meats, and risottos.  With subtle aromas of blackberry, dark chocolate, and cigar leaf, this wine has flavors of pie cherries, licorice, and cranberries.  Aged 22 months in French and American oak.

Serenity - 2006 (2010 Bronze Medal) - A Rhone-style California Red wine

 

A blend of Mendocino Syrah (43%), Petite Sirah (14%) and Carignane (43%).  Individually aged for 32 months in French and American oak, this blend of wines is complex yet balanced.  Aromatics of leather, cedar wood, dark berries, and hint of wild truffle  evolve into flavors of rick blackberry pie with hints of caramel, licorice, and black pepper.

Wish Upon a Star - 2006 - a Super Tuscan Amador Co - (2010 Silver Medal) - John Bree Vineyards

 

A rich and hearty blend of Sangiovese (59%), Cabernet Franc (22%) Cabernet Sauvignon (13%), and Aglianico (6%), with black cherry and anise aromas and full flavors of dark cherry and spicewood.  Barrel aged in American and French oak barrels for 34 months.

Dark As Night – 2006 - A Bordeaux-style Red Wine – (2010 Silver Medal)

 

A well balanced and smooth blend of Mendocino Merlot (50%), with Amador County Cabernet Franc (25%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (25%).  Sumptuous and earthy black oak aromas evolve on the palate in to rich flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate, and warm maple syrup, hints of cedar and black tea, followed by a long white pepper finish.   Barrel aged 34 months.

Cabernet Franc – 2005 (2010 Silver Medal) - Amador County – John Bree Vineyards

 

This velvety smooth and luscious red wine has aromas of dark berries, pepper and coffee.  Discrete tannins are balanced by rustic flavors of dark cherry and caramel.  The finish is long, peppery, and memorable.  Barrel aged in French and American oak for 33 months.

Sangiovese – 2006                               Amador Co. – Shenandoah Mine Ranch.  

 

This lighter-bodied red wine has scents of hibiscus blossom, pie cherry, and assorted spices and was aged in two French oak barrels for 36 months.  Flavors of cherries, vanilla, and cinnamon are followed by balanced and subtle tannins.  Neither fined nor filtered.

Elysian Fields – 2004 – (Bronze Medal) Amador County Sutter Creek Vineyards

 

The Greeks brought the noble Aglianico grapes to Southern Italy some 2,500 years ago.  This blend of Aglianico (86%) and Sangiovese (14%) resulted in a robust wine having earthy scents of blackberry brambles and crème broule with flavors of black cherry, coffee, and dark chocolate.  The lingering finish is long and peppery with cedar wood spice. Barrel aged 30 months.

Syrah – 2004 - Alexander Valley (Dry Creek hilltop grown)

 

Lush aromas of blackberry, cocoa and cinnamon evolve into flavors of black cherry and dark chocolate with a long cedar finish. Discreet tannins are balanced by rustic flavors of dark cherry and caramel. The finish is long, peppery, and memorable. This hilltop grown syrah was aged in French and American oak for 33 months.

Syrah - 2005 - Mendocino County Nunez Vineyards

 

This syrah has a nose of smoky black currant with a dusting of cocoa powder. The flavor is of blackberry pie, tobacco, and cloves. Aged in French and American oak for 34 months prior to bottling. Neither fined nor filtered. Decanting recommended.

Petite Sirah - 2005 - Mendocino and Amador Counties

 

Well balanced but intense, this deeply layered wine has aromas of blackberry, clove, and peppery vanilla. The almost chewy texture reveals nuanced flavors of dark fruit and cassis, followed by a dusting of cocoa. Barrel aged for 32 months.

Cabernet Sauvignon - 2005 - Mendocino County - Nunez Vineyards  

 

Smooth and elegant, the herbal aroma of this Mendocino Cabernet evokes memories of dried currant, wild berry and a hint of black tea. The flavor tends toward black cherry, tobacco and sandalwood. Barrel aged in French and American oak for 40 months. Neither fined nor filtered.

Merlot - 2005                                   Mendocino County - Nunez Vineyards

 

This merlot is complex and multi-layered.  There is a suggestion of Mendocino dust, blackberry and tea, followed by flavors of blackberry mocha, pipe tobacco and cloves laced with satiny tannins.  Aged in American and French oak barrels for 40 months.

Old Vine Zinfandel – 2006 - Mendocino Co. - German Vineyards

 

Chosen from vines planted in 1968, these Zinfandel grapes have evolved into a velvety smooth and flavorful red wine using traditional-style wine making techniques. Complex and well balanced, flavors of black berries, anise, cinnamon and a hint of white pepper linger long on the palate. Barrel aged for 34 months in French oak. Neither fined nor filtered.

Bursting with flavors, this dry port opens with rich tastes of blackberries, mission figs and chocolate followed by vanilla and peppery oak lingering long on the palate.
